About Us

Mama Pilates Hub is owned & run by Melissa Vincent

In 2015 she opened a dedicated Pilates studio, The Pilates Hub in South Dublin and was a busy little studio but during the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 the studio closed and Melissa took her classes online. During this time she decided to concentrate more on the Pre and Postnatal and Women’s Health aspect of her business and so Mama Pilates Hub was born in 2021.

Movement and exercise has always played a major part in Melissa’s life and she started practicing Pilates over 20 years ago. As a former competitive gymnast and team sports player, she found with regular Pilates practice she could maintain her flexibility, overall body strength and fitness. Her love of Pilates led her to train as instructor with Progressive Pilates Academy in 2008.

Melissa has trained with many Pilates Training Bodies and is always seeking out courses and workshops to further enhance her training, knowledge and expertise.  Melissa is a fully qualified mat Pilates instructor with thousands of teaching hours. She is also qualified to teach level 1 Reformer Pilates and also Barre Pilates.

Melissa is a fully certified Pre and Postnatal Pilates instructor and has done numerous Pre and Postnatal specific training workshops and certificates. In 2020 Melissa completed  Dr Sarah Duvall PT’s Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist course online. Her interest in Pre and Postnatal is ongoing and she always seeks the best and most current advise re safe and effective exercise in this most important time in a women’s life.

Due to the Pandemic in early 2020, all Melissa classes moved online and it gave her the opportunity to specialise in her passion for Pre and Postnatal Pilates and her strong interest in Women’s Health. Now that ‘normal life’ is back! Mama Pilates Hub is now back to In person classes, in venues around South Dublin.

Melissa has extensive experience teaching Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates. She loves working with clients all the way through their pregnancy journey. She is passionate to help women feel good and be active and healthy during their pregnancy and into the Postnatal period and beyond.

Her classes incorporate functional movement, a challenging but effective workout to help strengthen and prepare Prenatal clients for labour and birthing their baby. Her Post Natal classes will restore and rebalance, helping the client to deal with motherhood and all the challenges that brings! Melissa’s classes are also fun and interactive, giving lots of personal direction and also ensuring correct movement and alignment.

Melissa is also a Certified Baby Massage Instructor, training in 2014 with Baby Massage Ireland and is a certified instructor (CIMI) She runs regular Baby Massage courses, mostly baby’s coming back from Prenatal classes. Its so lovely to see these little ‘bumps’ and meeting all the babies.
Melissa is also currently studying Neuromuscular Physical Therapy.

Melissa is a busy mum of 2 little girls, and practiced and taught Pilates and all the way through both of her pregnancies and saw the endless benefits of doing so, both during and post pregnancy!
